Help: Journal Record

The Journal Record page enables you to view bibliographic details for each journal and a list of articles included in International Index to Performing Arts by issue.

View a Journal Record

You can view a journal record in the following ways:

What information does a Journal Record contain?

Journal records contain the following information (where available):

OpenURL linking

If outbound OpenURL linking has been enabled for your institution, an additional link will appear below the journal record. Click on this link to forward the journal details to your institution's link resolver in order to locate full text or physical holdings for the journal in other services.

Search for articles in this journal

A Search for articles in this journal link is displayed below each journal record. Follow this link to open the Search Articles page with the title of the journal you are viewing pasted into the title field. You can now perform an article search limited to articles within this journal.

List of Issues

An expandable list of issues included in International Index to Performing Arts follows the journal details. Click on the plus (+) icon next to an issue to view a list of the articles available for that issue. Only one issue can be expanded at any one time.

Individual article information is displayed in the same format as on the Article Search Results page.

By default the list of issues is presented with the most recent issue first. To view the list with the oldest issue first, click the View oldest issue first link at the top of the list of issues. When the list is displaying oldest issue first you can change it back to most recent issue first using the View most recent issue first link.

Note: There will be no list of issues for open access journals, a URL will be included in the journal record linking to the external website for the journal.

Add a Journal Record to Marked List

You can add journal records to the Marked List so that you can collect together several documents ready for emailing, printing or downloading during your session on International Index to Performing Arts. To do this:

You can view items in the Marked List at any time by following the Marked List link at the top of the page. The citation for the journal record will be listed in the Journals section of the Marked List and follows the same format as a citation on the Journal Search Results page.

Add Articles to Marked List

When the list of issues is expanded you can add articles to your Marked List.

To add an article to the Marked List, check the Add to Marked List checkbox below the citation. The background colour of the citation will change to indicate that the article is now in the Marked List.

To remove an article from your Marked List, uncheck the Add to Marked List checkbox below the citation.

Articles added from the journal record are listed in the Articles section of Marked List.
